Mighty Healthy Hosts Bixby Skate Day in Long Beach
Mighty Healthy, a well respected streetwear brand, hosted its Bixby Skate Day at Bixby Park (aka Cherry Park) in Long Beach, California on May 18, 2012. The Bixby Skate Day at Cherry Park was the first of many upcoming skateboarding events for the brand.
Each month, Mighty Healthy will go out into the community, bringing boarding pros and amateurs together to skate. At the Bixby event, kids came away with cool gear, including Mighty Healthy branded T-shirts and Mighty Healthy trucker caps that were provided by Flexfit. In the past year, Flexfit has been an ardent sponsor of Mighty Healthy and has continued to support Mighty Healthy’s grassroots efforts.
“Mighty Healthy supports the local skating community, and we want to make sure the kids know that we support what they’re doing,” states Alex Wood, Mighty Healthy’s West Coast Marketing & Sales Director. Mighty Healthy has set its sights on capturing consumers who love the outdoor skateboarding lifestyle that Southern California’s tepid year round climate allows for.
“Skateboarding pros, Connor Champion and Danny Montoya were at the Bixby event, skating and having a blast with the neighborhood kids who came out to skate,” shares Wood.
Approximately one hundred local kids were in attendance after hearing about the Mighty Healthy Bixby Skateboarding event through a viral marketing campaign that included: Twitter Instagram and Facebook, as well as flyers that were passed around the local communities.
